Description

Dancing with a partner is probably one of the most cooperative activities ever. Think about it: communication, coordination and, above all, trust play a critical role in making dancing a successful experience for the two of you – not too different from the commons we are used to deal with in our work as researchers and practitioners. During our social evening you will be able to demonstrate how you excel in these skills while taking part in a funny swing crash course at Casco, Lange Nieuwstraat 7, just around the corner of the main conference venues.

Over the past years swing, a vibrant form of jazz music that dominated in the 1930s and 1940s, has revived all around the world. Encouraged by its large student population, Utrecht has become one of the main scenes for swing dancing in this part of Europe – with courses and workshops by international instructors taking place regularly. On Tuesday evening, July 11, Swing in Utrecht in cooperation with Casco will offer you the possibility of relaxing and having fun with some basic swing steps after a hectic conference day.

No special requirements or physical condition is needed, everyone is welcome; you only have to register in advance to join. Participation in the workshop is free. At the event you will be able to purchase drinks and snacks.
