We of course hope you will enjoy the conference. But beside the conference venues, there is a lot more to see in the Utrecht! Some of Utrecht’s scenic locations will be included in the conference excursions on Thursday, but you can also discover Utrecht by yourself! Utrecht’s City centre offers a many opportunities for social activities, such as the Dom Tower, guided city tours, or museum visits to for example the Museum of the Convent of Saint-Catherine (Museum Catharijneconvent), the Railway Museum (Spoorwegmuseum), the Central Museum, and the unique Miffy Museum (Nijntje-museum) opposite of the Central Museum.
Utrecht’s City centre offers a large variation of dinner facilities and bars. The historical wharfs are unique within Europe and offer a lot of opportunities to have a drink or a meal along the canal.
Close-by are also the old estate and nature reserve of Amelisweerd (15 min by bus from Central Station) or an hour’s walk along the Kromme Rijn river) and the woods near Zeist (about 20 min. by bus from Church of Saint-John-Baptist).
From Utrecht Central Stations, there are frequent and direct Intercity connections to other cities like Amsterdam (30 min.), Leiden (30 min.), The Hague (45 min.) and Rotterdam (40 min.).
For more info on what Utrecht has to offer you, please visit the website of Utrecht’s Tourist Office (located at 5 min. walk from the Conference venues).
